A Sign and a Mark…

A Sign and a Mark…

March 12, 2011

TefilinSiddur3281-300x300

I was studying the other day about the “mark of the beast” and came across some web sites that talked about what the “sign” of GOD was. One that I thought was really interesting was called The Antichrist Truth. Now first, I want to say I do not agree with everything posted in their sight, but it was the site that led me to looking into the Bible and comparing the sign vs. mark scriptures. The following is some what how my study went.

Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

~~~~~~~
a sign you say??? thoughout our generations...hmmm... that we may know that the LORD sanctifies us???...
~~~~~~~

Eze 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

~~~~~~~
again with the sign thing??? hmmm LORD are you trying to tell us something???...
~~~~~~~

Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deu 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

~~~~~~~
wow ... hmm the beast is gonna replace the sign that is bound on our hand and our head ...
~~~~~~~

wonder what the symbolism for hand and head is...our hand (our actions) and our head (our beliefs)???...

~~~~~~~
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
~~~~~~~

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,...

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

~~~~~~~
Rev 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
~~~~~~~

hmmm wonder if there is a connection???

~~~~~~~
I am not going to state my thoughts on this. I just wanted to bring it to the “frontlet” of your mind and let you study it for yourself.
Happy Studying!
You Might be a Redneck…
You Might be a Redneck…
March 14, 2011
If anyone ever wondered if my family were rednecks, this might clear up the confusion.
My husband, who used to own a wood shop, is no mechanic, that is no secret. What is questionable is what happens when you have a woodworker who needs to fix his farm equipment?
 100_0592
My wonderful husband took some scrap pieces of wood and screwed them together when the handle on his tiller broke, to stabilize it.
You may ask, “Does he really use it like this?”
100_0093
Yep!
And if you thought this was a one time thing that he did, think again.
 100_0596
On the wheelbarrow, my husband got sick of airing up the tires and replacing them when they go flat or broke off under huge loads of dirt, so he just made his own wheel.
100_0597
Yep, folks he made them out of wood!
He is just trying to save money with the economy so bad right?
He has even corrupted the children.
 100_0598
The leaf rake’s handle broke, and my son fixed it “like daddy would.”
100_0599
Yes, my friends, with a stick.
But wait, there is one more.
100_0600
This is his “old” wheelbarrow, stabilized with a 2X6 and handles replaced by the broken rake handle!
So, if you ask if we are redneck… to the core my friend, to the core.
I love my husband so very much, he is the best a girl could ask for, not to mention he keeps me laughing all the time.
Go Fly a Kite
Go Fly a Kite
March 13, 2011
My friend Mary had mentioned flying kites the other day which inspired my family to do just that. We headed to the lake. As soon as we arrived at a good private area we spotted “The Eagle.
111_0162 It was a blessing to get to see a bald eagle that close and not in flight.
After the eagle flew away we pulled out our kite. It was very hard to try to get the silly thing to get air born at first.
So while Adam was waiting for us to figure it out he got busy making a volcano in the sand.
IMG_1818
Adam also made this little “friend” Freddy out of shells.
Austin found a damselfly that had broken wings so the kids looked him over and placed him in the high grass for safety. The difference in a damselfly and a dragonfly is the position of it’s wings.
Once we figured out to tie the “tail” to each wing and to the “tail” area and that it took two people to get it air born, we had a great time!
IMG_1853
One of us had to hold it up while the person flying the kite kept tension on the string and the wind blowing against it almost did the sling shot affect and it would soar into the sky.
IMG_1834
Stewart and I took turns helping them launch it.
 IMG_1813
Adam was trying to fly it and run with it.
IMG_1870
Once he stopped running he flew it really well.
IMG_1819
Anna tended to make it do loopy loops most of the time.
IMG_1871
Looking at her “technique” I understand why. She would make big circles with her arms trying to control it.
 IMG_1830
Austin seemed to master it effortlessly.
  IMG_1867
He takes it pretty serious.
IMG_1885
Anna decided she liked launching it the better than flying it so she let the boys do the flying.
IMG_1863
Austin flew it to the moon.
IMG_1865
It really did look like it was “to the moon” with the string fully extended.
100_0479
Awesome picture Austin took, check out the sun’s reflection in the cloud.
 IMG_1876IMG_1877
IMG_1872IMG_1882IMG_1873IMG_1880Anna ran all over the beach while Austin was flying the kite hollering “Crash it , Crash it!”
IMG_1859
We had some problems with the strings coming off the kite. Hmm, I wonder why that is?
IMG_1896
Maybe because little feet kept stepping on them and getting them wrapped around their legs.
IMG_1902
So the “launcher” then had to become the “kite repair person”.
IMG_1912
While waiting for repairs to be made we had a visit from some American Coots swimming by.
IMG_1928
I love this picture of Austin, my little baby boy has grown into a fine young man. He is fully enjoying tormenting his sister.
IMG_1886
Austin grew tired of Anna telling him to crash it so he started aiming it at her and dive bombing her with it.
We had a really great day flying the kite and just spending time at the lake as a family. We are greatly blessed.
The Eagle!
The Eagle!
March 3, 2011
We went to the lake to fly a kite. We drove around a bit to find a good private spot without campers. People were everywhere because it was spring break weekend. I was just about ready to give up, totally frustrated when, against my “better” judgment, Stewart decided to take this little “pig trail” of a road. It looked more like a four-wheeler trail but the Tahoe fit down it so he took it. We ended up at a good private location with a nice sandy beach. As soon as we got out of the car, “Hunny look! An eagle!” Stewart calls out. Sure enough a beautiful eagle landed at the shore where we were. Such a rare and awesome treat GOD blessed us with. Immediately scriptures start flooding my head with references to eagles.
111_0162
Job 39:27  Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
IMG_1806
Deu 32:11  As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
IMG_1861
Isa 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I was thankful we had a hard time finding a spot because it took us to a beautiful place. Many times in our lives we get frustrated and are ready to give up because it looks hopeless or maybe the road gets too bumpy or maybe simply because we can not see the end result, we want to turn back. With GOD we must learn to just hold on and trust that the end destination will be totally worth it all.
Gal 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
I also need to learn that my husband is to lead and I am to follow. His decision to go down the road less traveled was the one that led us to the blessing.
Eph 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
