Sandy Creek Dozer

Sandy Creek Dozer

February 12, 2011

Hunny, I want to go walking out in the beautiful sun shine!” I tell Stewart after we eat lunch. So we load up in the car and head to Sandy Creek Park.

A thick smell of smoke was in the air. Charred trees and grass was all that was left of the parks vegetation. The Forest Service recently burnt off this area in a control burn.

We walked down the steep cliff to the beach area. The kids played along the shore by hopping across the little valleys of the wash outs.

100_9706It was very muddy and hard to walk because with every step the mud caked onto our shoes more and more.

100_9711I decided I was not real impressed with this location because of the nasty mud, smoke, and nothing interesting to look at but burnt land, so we left.

As we head out up the embankment to the car Stewart spots a dead tree that was partly burned at the base. He decides to give it a shove.

Adam is totally impressed with Dad’s ability to push over trees. It is still easy at this age to be a hero in a little boys eyes. He says, “Dad is like a bulldozer!” I ask him if he was going to be a bull dozer when he got as big as dad. He says, “I already am!”
