February Arctic Cold Front

February Arctic Cold Front
February 2, 2011
I don’t know what woke me up but I woke up just a little before the alarm clock went off. I looked at the storm tracker on my computer to see where the storm was because it was suppose to get bad. I could see it was getting close. I was not looking forward to driving to Stewart’s doctor appointment in the nasty rainy cold weather. I looked out my window the wind was whipping the trees around. I tell everyone it is time to get up.
All of a sudden I hear a tree fall. I thought, “Yep it must have been the one that suck in the ground the other day.” I looked and it was. I tell Stewart, “There went that tree!” Stewart got dressed and went to look out side. The sound of the wind was very unsettling. I had no idea the winds was going to be bad. I normally do not stay in our trailer during bad storms with high winds. I remembered that I prayed last night for protection during our drive to town but I did not pray for protection over our house.
I tell the kids to get in the hall and sit down. I was going into my room to look at the weather on the computer again when I heard a loud shuddering sound. I cringed and my heart sank because I knew it was part of our cover roof. Stewart was standing looking out the back door at the same time, all of a sudden the tin from the chicken house came flying toward the house. He slammed the door shut and hollered at me, “There went the chickens roof!” I grab my Bible and set in the floor with the kids and begin to pray. Stewart went and looked out the front door, “Oh my gosh! our roof came off!” He came to where I was sitting with the kids, praying, “Honey, the roof came off!” ….“ I know I heard it when it happened.” I said, then resumed praying.
The rain was pouring by now and the thunder was rolling. I get up from praying and went and looked on the weather radar on the computer again. I see a break forming in the storm line. I knew it would soon be over. With only a steady rain falling and no more huge wind gusts I went to take a picture of our damage, while Stewart called to check on my parents.IMG_1026 A 24 foot section of our cover roof came off from the middle of our trailer and landed against the tree line, miraculously missing the volleyball net. My mom did not even know the winds had been bad and was shocked to hear about our roof.
My sister Brenda called to check on us and offered to come help if we needed anything, I love my family. I posted this picture on Facebook and told what had happened. Our good friend Pete posted that if we needed help putting it back on just to let him know. I am truly thankful to have a friend who is willing to help at the drop of a hat, a true sign of a Christian brother. I wrote back that I would call if we did.
The roof leaked a small puddle in the kids bathroom and on Austin’s bed and we put a pan under the drip and we noticed a leak stain in the living room. Thankfully it is all small stuff that can be easily fixed.
Since the worst of it was over I knew we would go ahead and go to his appointment. We left the kids at my moms and headed toward town. After the appointment, we borrowed my sister’s trailer and went to get tin to put back on the roof. The temperature dropped fast and had already reached the freezing mark. After getting the kids, and getting bundled up, Stewart and Austin got busy fixing the roof with Anna as a helper.  Adam and I kept the hot chocolate refills coming to my little workers. Adam was the official tester of the coco, he had to make sure it was good and warm.
IMG_1031 Austin and Stewart got up on the roof and in no time had it fixed. Stewart always has amazed me at how fast he can work.
IMG_1027 Anna was the official “go-fer”, making her mother a nervous wreck climbing on the ladder.
At just around $200 we are back under a non-leaking roof. I thank GOD our damages was minor and that no one else sustain damages that I know of. Like I told the kids, we took the hit this time and that is ok because GOD provided us with the money to be able to fix it and the capable men (and little girl) that could to do the work. We are blessed.
1Th 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

My Statement of Faith…

February 3, 2011

I was rewriting my Facebook’s “About Me” aka my “Statement of Faith” and realized it started to take on the appearance of a blog. So, naturally, I had to blog it.

FACEBOOK:

ABOUT ME:

Hi, My Name is Becky McGee-Husband, child of GOD, wife to Stewart, mother to Austin, Anna, & Adam.untitled2

OK, first, just a little FYI for certain people on Facebook...I do not add people as a friend just because they are trying to win a popularity contest.. and if I think that may be the reason you added me, you very well may be deleted from my friend list... also I will delete you if you cuss or talk dirty or disrespect my GOD, I will not tolerate it if we were face to face, so why should I on a social network ...

About Me:

I like farming our little farm, enjoying our animals, and canning fruits and veggies. I home-school my children and spend all my free time with them & my husband.
Pro 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

We hike nature trails and I blog about events in our life. I love to search out God's word and do research on Biblical History.

My Statement of Faith:
(expect it to change often as I grow in GOD and as things are revealed to me )

I believe that we should:  Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. (Ronald Reagan) Maybe even take notes from the Amish lifestyle on the living simply part. ~~~

I believe that we should separate ourselves from elements in life that have taken away the GLORY of GOD... I hate that most things in this world has pagan origins…

The very first commandment the Bible says:

Exo 20:3-6  Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

And time and time again in the Bible it says things like:
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, (Jer 10:2)…

Deu 18:9  When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

…so I do not celebrate most secular holidays, especially not any that I know to have paganism in them. Instead, I try to observe the feast days of the BIBLE (found in Lev. 23) the best way I know how…in celebration of JESUS.. If you know how to look at the feast days, you can see they are prophecies of JESUS….

Col 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

interested in the whys and how?? ask me about it ..I can explain what I know about it... This link is a good place to start.

I think that the true Sabbath is Friday evening thru Saturday evening. Sabbath gives us an opportunity to "rest" in the sanctuary of our home and in GOD, closing off the outside world to just be with GOD & family….to find rest and peace in HIM, to try to not even speak your own words on this day or find your own pleasure.

Isa 58:13  If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14  Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

What I find to be a bit of irony is the Sabbath has turned into the "customary" day that people go and do their own will, going to movies, parties, BBQs, or whatever. Can you imagine what a wonderful sacrifice to GOD it would be to actually turn from your own will on this day to submit yourself fully to GOD's will.

I also, at times, go to church on Sunday for praise and worship and fellowship. I know that GOD is omnipresent and is everywhere at all times, so whether I am at a church house worshiping HIM or in my room all alone worshiping HIM... HE is there. For people to say we must go to a church house to be in GOD's presence is making a statement that is false. Don’t get me wrong, churches have their purpose. They provide praise, worship, and fellowship and also it helps to teach scripture,…

(Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.)

…and for people who are unable (for what ever reason) to search out GOD for themselves it is a necessity, but do not make attending a church building a "law" condemning those who choose at times, to worship and pray in private.

Mat 6:6  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Oh but some say "the Bible says forsake not the assembling!" please remember assembling means to gather together and in the Bible it refers to getting together to fellowship about JESUS. If you know me at all, if I am around anyone for any amount of time, the discussion will turn to GOD.

Luk 6:45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh…

So while some say: “We must assemble at a church to learn of GOD!" I say, why not learn of GOD when you assemble outside the church. Speak of GODly things instead of worldly things we you gather with friends and family.

Mal 3:16  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. ~~~

I believe you can know people by the fruit they bare. You just have to accept the proof when it does surface.

Matt 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. ~~~

If you TRUELY seek the will of GOD, HE will show you what paths to take. Listen closely and HE will guide you.
Matt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. ~~~

If you hear something regarding the Bible that doesn't sit right on your spirit, look it up. Chances are it is GOD’s way of alerting you to truth. So many times I have heard the Bible misquoted or completely misinterpreted by friends and family even by preachers. I have learned to look up anything that sounds "hinky" and even look into the Strong's Concordance for the original meaning. The Bible is an awesome tool to learn about GOD but remember it was just humans that interpreted it and they did mess up at least one time I know for sure. (Act 12:4 the word Easter was translated wrong it should have said Passover... don't believe me look it up) Never take someone else's word about matters of the soul, study it out for your self.
2Tim 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Although, I highly respect and love the traditions of Israel and their ways, a person can do the letter of the law and traditions perfectly, but unless they know the deeper meaning behind it, and feel that meaning in their heart, they are missing the original point in the law and traditions. We must look deeper than just the act of a tradition or ritual and look at the reasoning behind what they were doing to fully understand and appreciate the point of it all. If not, then we end up going through the motions with out the heart being involved. ~~~

Always seek a confirmation from GOD, HE will provide it.

2Cor 13:1  ….In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. ~~~

Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
~~~ if  people actually did these things...it would be a perfect world~~~
I have decided...so what, if we do not see eye to eye on all our beliefs in CHRISTianity.. we believe on the major point that JESUS is the Son of GOD…
1Jn 4:15  Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
…and that is all that should matter.. I only ask to not be persecuted by fellow CHRISTians who do not understand or know my heart on the matters of my beliefs..
1Sa 16:7  … for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. ~~~
I AM FULLY CONVINCED THAT MY GOD IS BIG ENOUGH TO TURN ME AROUND IF I AM ON THE WRONG PATH and I pray all the time that HE will.
Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. ~~~
I post what I believe... take from the posts what you feel sets right on your spirit and ignore what doesn't... ~~~
I believe GOD likes different things, just like we do, since we are all created in HIS image... so have you ever considered that on one day maybe HE likes how Catholics praise and worship and pray to HIM and on other days maybe HE likes to hear the Pentecostals praise and worship and pray to HIM... I know I would get bored if I had to listen to the exact same thing everyday so why cant GOD, being who HE is, love us all and want us all to worship HIM in what ever way we FEEL is right... I believe it is the condition of a persons heart when that person prays that matters more than what or how he praises/prays.
Rom 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Rom 12:4  For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
Rom 12:5  So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. ~~~
